TOOTH PRESERVATION

Prophylaxis and tooth preservation are the cornerstones of modern dental medicine. Once bacteria have destroyed the enamel it is necessary to completely remove all traces of caries and fill the hole in the tooth. Our dental clinic uses metals and synthetic materials to fill teeth; we do not use amalgam. Modern filling materials are compatible and aesthetically appealing.

Minor dental defects

Synthetic materials the same colour as your teeth are available for treating minor damage to front and corner teeth. They are applied directly to the problem area and hardened by laser. These composite fillings are a long-lasting and relatively cost-effective method of restoring teeth damaged by caries.

Inlays

We treat larger defects in molar teeth by taking an impression in our in-house dental laboratory and making a filling from gold, ceramic or synthetic material which is then implanted in the tooth with special adhesive or dental cement. Patients today prefer tooth-coloured inlays made of ceramic or synthetic material due to their aesthetic appearance.

Gold inlays are the best of all: they are very compatible, extremely long-lasting and offer an ideal margin fit. Gold is also purported to have an anti-bacterial effect.

In the event a large amount of substance is missing we will manufacture and fit a larger cast filling called an onlay. The only difference between inlays and onlays is their size; the materials are the same.

Together with the specialists at our clinic you will find the best method to preserve your teeth.
